How I fixed my skin in 35 days!
Just over a month ago my skin changed over night and I woke up with redness and spots all over my face. I have always had red cheeks but this was more red that usual. I put it down to a hormonal imbalance as it coincided with the week that I stopped breastfeeding. My skin still isn't 100%, but I have noticed a drastic improvement and this is what I changed to fix it!
3 things. All natural & organic. A tea blend. Oils for my skin. Oils for balancing hormones.
- The tea blend I have been drinking religiously each night is made up of calendula leaf, red clover leaf, vitex (chaste berry) & nettle leaf. Calendula tea has an ability to improve the appearance of skin, stimulating healing, boosting the immune system, ease menstrual pain, & detoxify the body. Red clover tea leaves can help balance hormonal shifts and prevent mood swings (essential during times of hormonal change)! Vitex or chaste berry helps to balance out estrogen levels. The antioxidants contained in nettle tea can help speed up healing, and prevent scarring issues on the skin. - After i take my makeup off at night I apply an oil blend to my skin. This blend is made up in a facial carrier oil. It helps to feed and nourish the skin. It’s made from vitamin E, almond oil, rosehip, macadamia oil and camelia oil. Into this carrier oil I place frankincense, geranium and rose oil. Frankincense is amazing for keeping skin soft and supple. Germanium has a balancing effect on the production of sebum, the oils that our skin produces. Rose has a calming effect and helps with any redness, skin irritation, and it is also hydrating and soothing. I also add chamomile as it is another great oil to help with redness and any abrasions I might have on my skin.
- Lastly the oil blend I am using on my pulse points 3 times daily is made specifically to help with balancing hormones. In an almond oil base I add, Geranium, Black Pepper, Vetiver, Cypress, Clary sage, Rose, Fennel, Cinnamon and Spruce Hemlock. All of these oils have one thing in common - hormonal balance. Also weekly I used a Lavender Face and Body Scrub. It is a very soft scrub made from pine wood extract and it leaves my skin feeling extremely soft and refreshed followed by a red clay mask which I find help to reduce the redness
My skin is far from perfect, my hormones still aren’t perfect but I have noticed such a huge difference that I had to share what I had been doing!
