25 Festive Acts of Kindness

25 Festive Acts of Kindness

The official festive season begins in 30 days and if you’re anything like us we can’t wait! Christmas is everything in this house hold and we love to make it as much about giving as we can! For a few years now we have done 25 Acts of Kindness, 1 for every day including Christmas Day. Many of these activities are things you might find your self doing over the Christmas season anyway, but viewing them through the lens of an act of kindness will help your child to see all the simple ways you can be kind to someone else. Allow them to help and guide you every step of the way.

Here’s the list!

  1. Help Decorate the house & tree ready for Christmas

  2. Leave little animal toys or decorations in the park for other kids to find

  3. Bake your favourite cookies for friends

  4. Create Christmas themed kindness Rocks to leave in the park

  5. Pick fresh flowers or herbs to give to someone

  6. Donate food to a local shelter

  7. Make Christmas cards for your next door neighbours

  8. Buy a present for under the Kmart Wishing Tree

  9. Create and mail a card or present to friend

  10. Donate supplies to a pet shelter

  11. Buy a baby chino for a stranger (pay it forward)

  12. Leave Merry Christmas notes on 5 cars

  13. Leave festive chalk notes in the Park

  14. Donate 5 old toys to the op shop

  15. Wrap your presents with homemade wrapping paper

  16. Bake something for for your grandparents

  17. Donate old clothes to the op shop

  18. Make thank you notes for the postman and delivery man

  19. Donate 5 books to the op shop

  20. Give candy canes to retail workers

  21. Donate some of your one money to a charity

  22. Leave kind notes in random places at the shopping center for people to find

  23. Send Merry Christmas messages to friends

  24. Leave Santa & the Reindeers a present & a card

  25. Give everyone their presents!

You could pick one each day, or we like to print them and place one in an advent calendar for Hunter to open and read each day! It’s a beautiful way to start our day with a kind act for somebody else!

However you wish to use these ideas, remember that acts of kindness are incredible way to foster relationships, a sense of community and they increase positive emotions in your self and your children. It feels good to do good!
